“ Swedish veterans WOMBBATH release their 7th album, Beyond The Abyss.

Work on the album began six months after Agma came out, but the departure of drummer Jonny Rudin forced a pause in the process. The recording resumed with new drummer Antti Silventoinen (ex-Dead Shape Figure). Mixing was handled by Anders Biazzi (ex-Amon Amarth), who added symphonic elements and violin, played by guitarist Thomas von Wachenfeldt.

Vocalist Jonny Pettersson describes Beyond The Abyss as a balance between Agma's progressive experiments and the old-school sound of early Wombbath: «One step into death metal’s past, another into the future. It’s a dark, filthy, and organic album that carries our legacy forward.»
